Please do not take glass outdoors -- plastic drinking containers are available.
When you are going to be away, please lock all doors and sliders. We believe our home is safe and secure, but we cannot be responsible for your valuable property.
Please ask for assistance with the sauna, the Tiki torches, or if you wish to shift the frame of the futon in Tradewinds Suite to make it into a bed.
Our spa maintenance service cleans and chemically balances the outdoor spa once a week to assure that it remains in top condition. We will notify you of the schedule.
Because this is a tropical setting, we use a pest control service. Even so, insects occasionally find their way indoors. Harmless geckos (considered good luck according to local folklore) may also be seen. Keeping screen doors closed will minimize this.
If you wish to burn candles, please ask your hostess about an appropriate container.
Some face creams, body lotions and skin medications contain a bleaching agent. If you plan to wear one of these products to bed, we will happily substitute white bed linen upon request. Otherwise, accidental bleaching of our colored bed linen will result in a charge for replacement.

MAUI TRADEWINDS® VACATION RENTAL RESERVATION AND FINANCIAL UNDERSTANDING
Reservations are on a first come first serve basis. Your credit card details are used to guarantee your reservation.
The following terms apply to reservations of fourteen nights or less. If you are staying fifteen nights or longer, an advance deposit may be required, and we will agree on cancellation provisions which may differ from what appears below.
If your reservation is at the standard rate, full payment will be charged
ninety days ahead of your arrival. Reservations are subject to
cancellation if payment is not available when due. If your arrival is already within
ninety days, full payment will be charged when we receive your signed
acceptance of these terms. Meanwhile, we will run an "authorization only" in
the amount of $1.00 on your credit or debit card for verification. Your card also serves as a security deposit in the event of loss or accidental damage to property.
If your reservation is at the Advance Payment rate, full payment will be
charged when we receive your signed acceptance of these terms. Reservations
are subject to cancellation if payment is not available when due. Your card

Refund for cancellations: Unlike commercial hotels and resorts which feature large room
inventories, small home-based visitor accommodations can't easily absorb
the cost of cancellations. If you need to cancel, we must receive
written notification from you, preferably by Email, before we can offer your
canceled nights to other guests. We will then use our best efforts to re-book
the accommodation for the time period you had reserved. Provided you
have honored the cancellation terms of your agreement with us, we will refund,
any amounts we succeed in collecting from other guests who book the vacancy
in your accommodation, up to the full amount of your deposit, and we will
provide you with an accounting. You can monitor our success in re-booking
the vacancy by checking our
Refund for early departure: If you must leave sooner than expected we will use our
best efforts to rent the accommodation for the remainder of the period you
had reserved. Provided you have honored the terms of your agreement with us,
we will refund, to you, any amounts we succeed in collecting from other guests who
book the vacancy in your accommodation, up to the amount you have pre-paid
for the unused nights, and we will provide you with an accounting. You can
monitor our success in re-booking the vacancy by checking our
You agree to be financially responsible for any loss or damage to the premises or its contents which may be caused by you, beyond normal wear and tear. If you leave the premises in a condition which requires more than five man-hours of cleaning, there will be a charge over and above the standard cleaning fee.
In the event of a dispute over the rights or obligations of either party to this Understanding, the prevailing party shall be entitled to recover its reasonable attorney fees, and costs and expenses incurred.
